YHWH Returns: Response to Maestro M. Erano Evangelista on the second coming of Jesus 3

Surprise surprise, more points to address by Erano. I hope to address these arguments by God's grace to the best of my ability.

"We are indeed blessed by God to know both good and evil because we are now guided by the prophet like Moses, in knowing the teaching of God and the teaching of Satan in the Bible, so that we may no longer be deceived! Now, we understand the meaning of “Fear God”:

and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 2:4-5 (NIV)

If you will seek God as if you would go after a hidden treasure, you will come to find God, the LORD.

What do we mean by the “the fear of the LORD?"

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 (NIV)

“The fear the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” - this is the time we will come to know about God.

“knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” - so that we can say that we fear God and obey His commandments, we should also know the God whom we fear.

As an example: when a man says that he fears God; and we ask him, how many gods are there, he would answer, there is only one God.  When asked again, what is the name of the God whom he fears, he doesn’t know the answer - and could only say, there are many names. This is because he doesn’t truly know Him (God).  A fool’s confession!

How can you know if the god you worship is the real God?  If you don't know His Name, you are cursed!   This is what Maestro Evangelista is doing for the people of the world.  He is making us understand the real God in the Holy Bible for the curse to be lifted upon all men."

Where does it say in the Bible that if you know God's name you are cursed? even implicitly. You cannot find such an inference and Erano is once again making it up. Just because someone may be ignorant of the name YHWH, that doesn't mean they cannot know YHWH, because the New Covenant promises that "they will all know me from the least of them to the greatest".

If the person knows the God of the Bible and loves him yet doesn't know his name, he is not cursed or lost. Erano, even if he claims to know YHWH's true name, That doesn't make him automatically true.

The subject of honoring one's parents, eye for an eye, generational curses and Ecclesiates 12 have already been addressed in the following articles:

Also, His misuse of Luke 12:50-52 has been addressed in the previous article I have written against Erano, as well as what Deuteronomy 4:2 says, which he has quoted in context this time:

An important question that arises among Christians is how much of the Torah applies to us and what parts are we expected to keep? Well I direct you to the following papers:

http://answering-judaism.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/examination-of-some-arguments-raised-by.html

These papers tackle what commandments we are obligated to keep, in light of what Jesus had FULFILLED in the Torah, not abolished, but fulfilled.

Regarding Psalm 22
"Read what was exactly written about Jesus in the Psalms of David:

Jesus said before that “He will be handed over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him, spit on him, flog him and kill him”.  What was actually written in the Psalms of David?

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, and am not silent.”
Psalm 22:1-2 (NIV)

This was the prophecy given by David, more than 700 years before the coming of Jesus; the Psalms of David describe the suffering from the punishment should the “son of Man” or the descendant of David commit an offense.

What other things were written about Jesus?

“My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.”
“I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me. They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.
Psalm 22:15-18(NIV)

“pierced” – Maestro Evangelista says Jesus was crucified.  This is another proof that the prophet of Islam did not speak the truth about Jesus, as he claims that Jesus was not crucified contrary to what was written in the above Psalm."

David is not being subject to punishment here. Essentially what is mentioned is this, Psalm 22 speaks of Jesus' vindication and what transpired on the cross. That's the Messianic application. The historical application is David beseeching God to deliver him from his enemies. Certainly the Psalm dispels any notion of Jesus never dying on the cross contrary to what the Quran claims. Jesus' own death on the cross was NOT for any sins he commited, because one he didn't sin and two he said he would die on the cross for the sins of the world or "give his life as a ransom for many". Jesus suffered as an innocent victim, though he died the death of a reprobate criminal. He remained sinless and loyal to the Father to the end.

"Why was Jesus forsaken by God?

O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. For your arrows have pierced me, and your hand has come down upon me. Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; my bones have no soundness because of my sin. My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly. I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning. My back is filled with searing pain; there is no health in my body. I am feeble and utterly crushed; I groan in anguish of heart.”
Psalm 38-1-8 (NIV)

Because of his pride, he was forsaken. He knew this would happen and that was why he was afraid to die.

“All my longings lie open before you, O Lord; my sighing is not hidden from you. My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes.”
Psalm 38:6-10 (NIV)

With the terrible beatings and floggings that he experienced, he even lost his eyesight. All these because of the wrong he had committed."

Psalm 38 is not talking about Jesus, it is referring to David in the context. He had sinned and is begging for forgiveness. There is no connection to this Psalm and Psalm 22 and thus Jesus didn't suffer for doing evil in the sight of the Father.

The subject of Psalm 90:4 and 2 Peter 3:8 are already covered here: http://answering-judaism.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/how-erano-evangelista-deceived-humanity.html. I need to look into the subject of Psalm 69 before any comments can be made.

"“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
Revelation 22:16 (NIV)

Jesus said that he is sending an "angel” or a messenger– Jesus will not return anymore! It is the “angel” that is sent by Jesus, who will testify to the “churches” (people who believe in Jesus) to clarify that he (Jesus) is only the "Root and Offspring" (or a descendant) of David, and also the bright “morning star”.

Who is it that has revealed to everyone that Jesus is the “Root and the Offspring of David and the bright Morning Star?"

That is the sign of the coming “angel” of Jesus. The “angel” is not an enemy of Jesus set out to destroy his (Jesus’) reputation. The “angel" will simply reveal to everyone what Jesus has sent him to do. And that is to declare that long ago, Jesus has admitted that he is “Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star”.

Through the (insert Erano's websites), Maestro Eraño Martin Evangelista has revealed that Jesus is the "Root and the Offspring of David". This exposition is not from the religions, for they preach that Jesus is the “Son of God”, the identity that Jesus desired and wanted his people to accept but for which he was punished and killed!

Maestro Eraño Martin Evangelista is the “angel” of Jesus."

The word angel or Angelos means messenger, in Hebrew it is Malak or Malach. A messenger in context can refer to a divine being, an ordinary man, or even to elements such as the wind. In the context of Revelation 22, it is speaking of a DIVINE messager, NOT a human one. If Erano is saying that Jesus is the root and offspring of David, he is preaching to the choir because CHRISTIANS ALREADY ACCEPT THAT!! Jesus being YHWH and being the Son of God doesn't refute him being the Son of David and vice versa.

Jesus being the Son of God has been addressed here: http://answering-judaism.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/the-true-authority-and-true-glory-of.html.

"Let us read in Hosea 12:4

He struggled with the angel and overcame him; he wept and begged for his favor. He found him at Bethel and talked with him there -
Hosea 12:4 (NIV)

In Hosea 12:4 we can read that Jacob struggled with an Angel of God, what does this angel look like?

So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.
Genesis 32:24 (NIV)

Do you remember that a “man” wrestled with Jacob?

When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, "Let me go, for it is daybreak." But Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me."
Genesis 32:25-26 (NIV)

It is now clear, the “man” not a being with wings whom Jacob wrestled with was an "angel," Therefore when it says “Angel” in Revelation 22:16 it does not necessarily mean a spiritual being but a man sent by God to proclaim His message.

Thus, Revelation 22:16speaks of a man (who was mentioned before by Jesus while he was still alive) whom God will send to testify or reveal the truth about who he (Jesus) really is, and why he was sent by God- that he is just a root and offspring of David or a descendantof David, as spoken by God in 2 Samuel 7:12-14.

Since Revelation 22:16 speaks about an angel who was sent to testify concerning Jesus, it is understood now that there is only one man and NOT ALL people was given the authority by God to explain Jesus true nature and mission from God."

The context of Revelation 22:16 is not a human messenger in the context, it is a divine messenger.

Also, Erano fails to tell you who actually wrestles with Jacob. Let's read it.
"22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. 23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”

But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

27 The man asked him, “What is your name?”

“Jacob,” he answered.

28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[f] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”

29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”

But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[g] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”

31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel,[h] and he was limping because of his hip. 32 Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob’s hip was touched near the tendon."
The man who wrestles with Jacob was YHWH God. YHWH appeared as a man and wrestled with Jacob and eventually blesses him. This individual was the angel of the LORD, a divine entity in the TANAKH who appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18 and 19. The angel was Jesus appearing as a man, but not fully being incarnated at these points in time and only Jesus could make the Father known to mankind.

More arguments may be addressed in a future article if the Lord wills.

  1. You have no basis for your claim that Yaacov wrestled with Hashem who took the form of a man. Hoshea clearly tells us that Yaacov wrestled with a "malach" which in Hebrew means a messenger or angel sent from Hashem. The word "elohim" is frequently used in the Hebrew Bible to refers to angelic messengers (Psalm 8:6) human messengers (Gen 32:4) and those who represent Hashem, for example, judges (Exo 22:7-8).

In Gen 32:31 Yaacov is simply stating he saw an "elohim"=angel face to face. Hashem tells us that no man can actually see His face and live- ergo the entire scenario is really about the malach- a messenger of Hashem, subservient to Hashem. It is not about Hashem becoming a man.

    1. You are correct about the Elohim point. But, I didn't merely say it was an ordinary angel, I said it was the angel or the LORD, an Old Testament manifestation of Jesus. Your appeal to Hosea doesn't help you. What angel causes a man to say "I have seen God and yet live". This isn't an ordinary Elohim as in the context of the passages you mentioned or even a place like Exodus 3 where Moses is made God to Pharaoh.

    3. Also in certain cases, such as visions and the burning bush, God veils his glory to the person. In Exodus 20, the Israelites were terrified of dying at the awesome sight of God. Even Isaiah in his book said "woe to me I am a man of unclean lips".

The incident with Jacob is an example of veiled glory.
