Sam Shamoun isn’t contradicting Jesus. A quick response to Bassam Zawadi

 “ Sam Shamoun says...

Indeed Mary is so highly blessed due to the reason that she was to conceive the greatest man who ever lived; the Son of the Most High, the Savior of the World, Jesus the Messiah(Sam Shamoun, The Jewish Messiah And The Prophet of IslamSource)

Sam Shamoun here is basically saying that Jesus is the greatest man who ever lived. However, this contradicts what Jesus himself said...

Matthew 11:11

11I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Here Jesus is saying that no one born of a woman (Jesus was born of Mary as Shamoun indicated) has risen and was greater than John the Baptist. This surely includes Jesus. So Jesus is not the greatest man who ever lived according to him.

So if Shamoun truly loves Jesus he should stop contradicting him.

That is a bogus misrepresentation of Jesus’ words. Sam Shamoun’s point is not contradicted by Jesus.

Jesus is speaking of others, not himself. It also ignores what John the Baptist himself said of Jesus in the very same gospel that Zawadi appealed to.

Matthew 3:11 I baptise you with water for repentance, but he who is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

John the Baptist himself confirms in that same chapter that Jesus is greater than he, even going as far later on to say to Jesus. “I should be baptised by you, why are you coming to me?”

Hope this article has helped.
